Oakland Unity Charter Schools – Two New Redesigns

Both websites for Unity Charter Schools of Oakland, California were recently redesigned. A student project for OUHS was converted into a nice clean WordPress website and given a new look.

OUHS needed a site update to increase its image and solicit support and donations from the community.

The logo was enlarged and enhanced and large school photos were used to create an opening slider for effect. All social networks were brought under one roof and integrated into the sidebars, header and footer.

The website now looks and functions perfectly on large TVs, tablets and phones. A modern fast-loading photo gallery was created and added to the menu. Staff tools and resources were added to a top menu for quick easy access.

A new ability to add YouTube videos as embedded post thumbnails was created to liven up the school blog. Featured images now enlarge into a very nice lightbox and looks great.

Overall the new website increases the school’s online image and improves the quality of its outreach.
